The strange phenomenon of 'twin films'. Can you name any more?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-43371881

Article about very similar movies released at the same time over the years which as a movie fan I had always wondered about, especially considering one is usually fairly good and the other crap.

This article doesn't really cover the phenomenon of two the same with one a big budget studio release and the other a small film about the same thing like last years Dunkirk followed by a straight to DVD small film called the same which also happens - but rather the likes of Olympus Has Fallen & White House Down or Deep Impact & Armageddon which were all big releases.

However it's all apparently a "coincidence" which I find a tad disappointing as a reason!!

Anyway my choice is The Prestige/The Illusionist. Any more suggestions on this boring wet Bank Holiday Monday when I have not got anything better to do than asking silly questions on WHO?!?!
